Gary Osborn

Gary Osborn was a physicist and electrical engineer. He held a B.S. in Physics from the Florida Institute of Technology and spent much of his career at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, developing real-time software and instrumentation for the deep-space tracking network — measuring spacecraft Doppler and ranging data, quasar interferometry for refining antenna and spacecraft positions, and FFT analysis of signals from the Helios spacecraft as they passed through the Sun's corona. Over four decades he also designed analog and digital circuitry and microprocessor systems across aerospace and industrial instrumentation.

Beyond his professional work, he pursued theoretical physics independently — general relativity, retardation methods, and related topics. The papers below are his own, which he wished to keep freely available.

He passed away on June 12, 2020, in Norco, California, surrounded by the families of his two daughters, Elizabeth and Jennifer. This site is preserved in his memory by his family.
